For parts that are not easily available, ASM 360 helps select a new component for your product. One of the most important drivers of new part selection is qualification and testing. Depending on the complexity and use of the part, we consider various strategic elements such as environmental and operating conditions, performance and integrity. Before we introduce a new part into design, we thoroughly qualify, bench test and validate its use and conformance.
Another big challenge with obsolescence is custom parts such as application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGA). Custom parts are the ones that have to be redesigned and remanufactured compared to standard parts. A standard part often has other suppliers or can be easily substituted.

We redesign devices for programming or material modification that accurately meets the performance specification. The redesigned products certify to the highest degree of conformance requirements. ASM 360 reduces the NRE costs of ASIC development considerably and is mindful all the pitfalls of a complex design migration and product conversion.
We have performed many FPGAs to ASICs conversions – may it be for SWaP, enhanced reliability and manufacturability, increased performance, to design in zero intolerance to failure, to replace obsolete components, reduce production time (due to lesser numbers of materials) and to provide significant price savings.
ASM 360 engineers have worked extensively with complex packaging solutions for high-density commercial memories, large SoCs, SiPs and delivering ASIC prototypes to provide package with the best signal integrity and performance.
